A learning context

Union of Skills × Erasmus+

Start with what people want to learn and have opportunities to practise.

Think first about what people want to learn, what they will do and the support they need to take part. Learning in another country or working with others may provide a setting for developing skills.

Two different roles

Union of Skills
A broad European strategy for skills, learning and talent, spanning education, training, work and life.
Erasmus+
The EU programme supporting education, training, youth and sport. It offers opportunities to learn in another country and work with others across borders.

Union of Skills and Erasmus+ are not the same thing. The strategy sets a broader direction; Erasmus+ can be one context for learning connected with some of those priorities.

Keep the learning purpose visible

Ask what participants will do, who can contribute and how they can reflect on their learning. For example, an international setting can offer opportunities to explore different perspectives; active listening needs opportunities to hear and respond to others.

Explore the selected skills to clarify the learning purpose before considering programme or funding details.
